Privacy Policy Clock

This Privacy Policy explains how the Clock application ("Clock", "the app", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use it. Clock is an alarm, world clock, timer, and stopwatch app.

By downloading or using the app, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.


1. Summary (the short version)

- We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email, phone number, contacts, precise location, photos, or files.
- Everything you create in the app — alarms, timers, stopwatch laps, world-clock cities, and settings — is stored only on your device. We cannot see it.
- The app includes Google AdMob (advertising) and Google Firebase (analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration). These Google services automatically collect certain technical and usage data, including a device Advertising ID, to show ads, measure performance, and keep the app stable.
- We do not sell your personal information.


2. Information the app does NOT collect

Clock does not request or access:

- Personal identity data (name, email address, phone number)
- Contacts, call logs, or SMS
- Precise (GPS) location
- Camera, microphone, or photos/media/files
- Health, financial, or biometric data

The app has no login or user account system.


3. Information stored locally on your device

The following is created and stored only on your device (and in your device/cloud backup if you enable Android backup). It is not transmitted to us:

- Alarms, their times, labels, ringtones, and repeat settings
- Timers and timer presets
- Stopwatch times and laps
- World-clock cities you add
- App preferences (theme, language, display, sound, vibration, and other settings)

Uninstalling the app removes this data from your device.

4. Information collected automatically by third-party services

To provide advertising, analytics, and stability, the app integrates the following Google services, which collect data automatically in accordance with their own privacy policies:

 a) Google AdMob (advertising)
Used to display ads in the app. AdMob and Google may collect and process:
- Advertising ID (a resettable device identifier)
- Approximate location inferred from IP address
- Device information (model, OS version, language, network type)
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)

This data is used to serve, personalize (where permitted), cap, and measure ads and to detect fraud.

 b) Firebase Analytics
Collects pseudonymous app-usage and event data (e.g., screens opened, features used, session information) and device/technical data to help us understand how the app is used and improve it.

 c) Firebase Crashlytics
Collects crash and diagnostic data (stack traces, device state, OS version) when the app encounters an error, so we can fix bugs and improve stability.

 d) Firebase Remote Config
Fetches configuration values from Google's servers to adjust app behavior. This request processes your IP address.

5. How we use information

We (and our service providers) use the automatically collected data to:

- Display and measure advertisements
- Analyze usage trends and improve features and performance
- Diagnose crashes and fix bugs
- Maintain the security and integrity of the app

We do not use this data to identify you personally.


6. Advertising and the Advertising ID

The app shows ads through Google AdMob, which may use your device's Advertising ID to provide personalized or non-personalized ads.

- In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, we request your consent for personalized advertising through a Google-certified consent message (Google User Messaging Platform) the first time you use the app. You can change your choice at any time.
- On any device, you can limit or reset ad personalization in your device settings:
  Settings → Google → Ads → Delete/Reset advertising ID or Opt out of Ads Personalization.


7. Permissions and why the app uses them
 

Why it is used

- Internet / Network state:  Load ads, analytics, crash reporting, and remote configuration 
- Notifications: Show alarm, timer, and stopwatch notifications 
- Schedule/Use exact alarm: Trigger alarms and timers at the exact time you set
- Full-screen intent & Turn screen on: Show the ringing alarm screen when your device is locked
- Foreground service (special use):  Keep alarms, timers, and the stopwatch running and visible while the app is in the background
- Wake lock: Keep the device awake long enough to sound an alarm/timer
- Vibrate: Vibrate for alarms, timers, and interface feedback
- Modify audio settings: Play alarm/timer sounds correctly
- Flashlight: Optional alarm/timer flash alert (if enabled)
- Receive boot completed: Re-schedule your alarms after the device restarts
- Ignore battery optimizations (optional): Prevent the system from delaying or killing alarms

The app does not use these permissions to collect personal data.


8. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Data collected automatically is shared only with the service providers listed in Section 4 (Google LLC), acting as our processors or as independent controllers for advertising, so they can provide their services. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.


9. Data retention

- Data stored on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Data processed by Google (AdMob/Firebase) is retained according to Google's retention policies. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.


10. Data security

We rely on Google's secure infrastructure for the analytics, crash, and advertising services, and on Android's app sandbox to protect data stored on your device. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.


11. Children's privacy

Clock is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Because the app shows ads, we recommend it be used by a general audience. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate action.


12. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live (e.g., the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising.

We do not sell personal information as defined by applicable law.


13. International data transfers

The service providers we use (Google) may process and store data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, these transfers are governed by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

 

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date. Significant changes may also be indicated within the app. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
